Advice

We are here to provide support, advice and personalised guidance to community groups, organisations and individuals.

North Yorkshire Women’s Health Survey 2024

In 2022, the UK government introduced the first women’s health strategy to enhance health outcomes for women and girls. Building on this, North Yorkshire Council aim to develop a specific plan for North Yorkshire, focusing on the overall physical, mental, and social wellbeing of women and girls.

They would like your input on various aspects of health and wellbeing, including housing, employment, and the environment around us, as well as health conditions. Your feedback will guide efforts to address the health needs of women and girls in our communities.

We offer a wide range of advice to both organisations and individuals

TRIBE

In partnership with Inspiring Healthy Lifestyles, we have been working closely with the ‘TRIBE’ team and North Yorkshire Council since Autumn 2023. The TRIBE App maps community activities, helping organisations to publicise and list their offer, and residents to find the help, support, or activities they are looking for. The app is completely FREE, and connects local communities & trusted organisations with people who need support or information.

Organisational support

There is such a wonderful and diverse mix of organisations and community groups, carrying out invaluable services locally. We can support your organisation by providing advice and practical solutions around areas including:

  • Governance
  • Community Research
  • Funding
  • Marketing
  • Policies and procedures
  • Staffing
  • Networking

Contact us to book an initial appointment to discuss your individual needs.

Volunteering

Volunteering is crucial for our community and helps so many people. Without the wonderful support, time and commitment of so many people in our community, vital services simply would not be able to operate.

As well as helping others, volunteering also helps to improve the wellbeing of those who choose to volunteer, supporting personal development, providing valuable new skills and experiences and boosting confidence.

We aim to help match volunteer needs, with volunteer availability, by putting organisations and volunteers in touch with one another.

If you are interested in volunteering or have a volunteering post that needs filling, please contact us, we’d love to hear from you.

Got an idea?

We love helping people who have an idea they want to grow.
Over recent years we have assisted with the development of new services and organisations, including:
  • Project WILD CIC
  • The Yorkshire Energy Doctor
  • Everyday Enable
  • Flinton’s Landscaping
  • Second Chance Ostomy Yorkshire
  • Inner Balance
  • Hall for Hemingbrough
  • Just Ask Sally

Contact us with your idea for support, advice and development assistance.

Reaching out

We are extremely keen to support groups, organisations, and individuals however we can. Whatever your need, our main role is to provide information, advice, and direction towards the services, opportunities, and partnerships that can help you.

As the local Anchor Organisation for the area, we aim to provide a one-stop-shop for support, advice and signposting. Linking people up with where they need to be, and who they need to speak to. See us as the ‘Tourist Information for the Voluntary and Community Sector’!

If we don’t yet know about your organisation, group, or opportunity, please get in touch and make sure that we do! It is vital that we can pass people on to where they can access the right support and services that they really need.

Linking you into other organisations, opportunities and pathways, we are here to support your next steps and help make this an exciting time, rather than a daunting one.
