Up For Yorkshire offers a variety of services to help you with your career. We can provide training, help you find a job, and support your career development; we’re committed to helping people reach their full potential. Whether you’re seeking new employment opportunities, looking to upskill, or simply exploring career options, our expert team is here to guide you every step of the way.

We have a team of staff and associates that we can call on to support a range of training opportunities. As an organisation we are able to offer a whole range of bespoke training, examples have included:

We also support people to get into work, seek new paid roles and to gain the relevant qualifications for what they wish to do. 

We also have strong links with external training providers for a wide and diverse range of options and opportunities and we have an ongoing programme of training opportunities available to tap into.

Career Development

Often knowing what to do with your career and how to get more from your working life can be really tough. We believe in proactive personal development mapping, supporting you to plan and implement action steps towards your career goals. 

No matter how old you are, just leaving college, at a mid-point in your life wanting a change, or looking to get more from your retirement, we can help you to consider your options, think outside the box and find an exciting new path to suit you. 

Linking you into other organisations, opportunities and pathways, we are here to support your next steps and help make this an exciting time, rather than a daunting one.

1-2-1 Tutoring with Lindsay: Free – Online – Tailored – Flexible 

Lindsay, a qualified teacher with over 30 years of experience, offers free bespoke learning packages in math, reading, writing, and literacy skills. She can also support parents of children who are having difficulties at school.

Lindsay’s approach helps to build confidence, provides support for neurodiverse learners, and offers flexible online sessions, with IT equipment provided onsite at Community House.

Rise2Thrive 

Rise2Thrive is a program that helps adults in North Yorkshire and York who are struggling to find or keep a job. It provides personalized support, including advice, mentoring, and training, to help people overcome barriers and improve their employability. The program is funded by the UK government and runs until March 2025, with the possibility of extension.
